Why fair use policy exists

Shared hosting environments rely on balanced resource usage. This policy helps prevent one account from degrading performance for others on the same infrastructure.

Examples of restricted usage

  • Spam, unsolicited bulk email, or abusive outbound messaging.
  • Public proxy/VPN, anonymizer, or malicious traffic relay workloads.
  • Resource-heavy automation causing sustained CPU, RAM, or I/O abuse.
  • Illegal content distribution, phishing activity, or malware operations.
  • Workloads better suited for VPS or dedicated environments when shared limits are exceeded.

Resource behavior expectations

  • Use reasonable process, memory, and database resource levels.
  • Avoid excessive cron frequency or uncontrolled background jobs.
  • Maintain updated web applications to reduce exploit and abuse risk.
  • Keep account usage aligned with the purchased service profile.

Enforcement and escalation

When possible, MeraHost provides notice and remediation guidance. Severe or repeated violations may lead to immediate suspension or termination to protect platform integrity.
